See you Saturday even! On a recent trip to The Beer Necessities, the ultimate location for Beer and Hot sauce in Westchester County, I was not in the mood to go and try some new beers but to get my hands on some seasonal ciders or shandy concoctions. On this trip the one things that shot my way was McKenzies and their different cider options. Their label presented this old fashioned feel which gave this feeling of tradition and and quality and after having that first sip of the seasonal reserve I knew it was something good. The seasonal reserve sports notes of nutmeg and cinnamon and is an awesome change to the traditional plain cider. The flavors are deliciously intertwined and reminds of an adults drinkable version of Mott's Cinnamon Applesauce. The next version of McKenzies that was on the list was the hand pressed black cherry cider. The smell of this before even tasting was like a maraschino cherry with a hint of Dr. Browns Black Cherry sweetness. This only means one thing when it comes to taste and that means spot on. I will say it was definitely spot on with the taste but it was a little too sweet for my personal liking. I will be the first to admit that girly drinks are the way to go #dontjudgeme but this was a little too much for me. Not that I wont drink it again, only that a full bottle is just too sweet. After finishing the bottle it was not that bad but first choice will definitely be the Seasonal Reserve. For more information check out their website at http://www.mckenziesbeverages.com/.
