Nike has used the Boroughs as a theme for kicks before and has also used parts of New York for the Air Force 1 like the "Hamptons" from last year. Now, releasing this Friday on the Sportswear Ice Cream Truck in NYC, Nike will be giving us the Borough Pack. Each of these kicks is going to be all white except the laces, the tongue and the tongue tag are going to be colored and individualized for each borough. On top of that on the medial and lateral sides of the heel there will be the silhouette of the borough and the name.
Nike has teamed up with FootLocker and some of their athletes to produce what is known as "The Educators" which is a commercial series featuring Stat, as the principal. The second edition is him and his teachers, or other athletes like Blake Griffin, teaching young athletes in the academy. It is a great way to push their newly released sneakers to the public in relation to popular athletes. Check out the video below and let us know what you think. When it comes down to the straight nitty gritty shoes that are black and especially Foamposite stay looking new for longer. There are multiple factors in something like that, like the material, the color, and what not but now after we have seen the silver Foamposite Max's scheduled for a September 30th release we now have the all black edition originally from 06' that will be released on Black Friday, the same day this past year that Nike released the Delorean Dunks that literally looked exactly like the car. Check out the image below and if these are something you gotta have, start saving up for that $225 price tag.
One of the top color-ways always picked in the DRIPT offices is the 'Think-Pink' color-way for the Kay Yow foundation and even if its not for the foundation we still pick it because of its vibrance and the color it screams. We now have another one to show you and this time its on the Kobe 6. We have seen uncountable numbers of color-ways for Kobe's shoes over the past three editions and we give applause to anyone that has every color, which is definitely a great feat to achieve. Below we have the Kay Yow 6's and no word on a release date yet but we will keep you posted. These feature a bright pink upper with the Kay Yow logo on the side of the heel with white and silver accents. Not as bright as the Hyperdunk 2010 or the new Zoom Soldier but this one has more sparkle than metallic shine, especially on the scales. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
A couple months ago we put up an article by MaxStisser Music with his remix of Marvins Room featuring Mike DiOrio which in our mind is absolutely fantastic and ya'll should listen and like it, but at the same time we got another re-make for you by our by Kram-D and this time he did Headlines. We warn you though, its explicit, so listen at your own risk. Were just kidding, its a great remix but check it out and like our boys. So here we are check it out below, Headlines, remixed by Kram-D http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/en/play/s/a5af964-405574/ (and just to give you a little more candy we threw in Marvins Room again) In the May Preview of Fall/Winter 2011 we got looks into some Air Max 1's that we just cant wait for such as the Aztec which features a crazy aztecan print on the upper which has white grey and purple mimicking some of the art and weavings from centuries ago. These have a nice soft nubuck and premium leather on the rest of the upper in a brownish color-way and are set to release sometime in September. Stick with DRIPT on more news on an exact date.
These SICK gems are bound to cause a commotion on August 10th, the date on which they are scheduled to release as a first time retro since the 90’s. As a member of the Seattle Mariners in 1996, Ken Griffey Jr. and Nike came together to release one of the most sought after trainers to date, featuring a an Emerald Green and Black nubuck upper symbolizing the team’s color scheme. White accents on the swoosh, laces and the 24 coinciding with Griffey’s jersey number add a distinctive style to the shoe along with the Air Max sole and the strap across the ankle. Whether you are a baseball fanatic training for your next World Series or a Sneakerhead looking to add to the collection, look out for these, they shouldn’t remain on the shelves for long. Select locations have already begun selling these gems on August 6th and they can also be found on eBay. WWW.Nike.com was scheduled to release them the 6th as well and they have not yet showed up on the website. Stay DRIPT with us for the latest in |
