Christian Tresser designed the first Air Max 97 which was released in 1997 ironically enough. It was designed using the Japanese Bullet train as inspiration. It featured the first full length air unit specifically made for running. The CVS edition sports a canvas upper as compared with other synthetics or natural materials and is constructed a little differently than its predecessors. This release is sporting a volt upper with white midsole to make a splash of color for the Fifteenth Anniversary of the shoe.
